We Can’t Wait to See You at Our First Christmas Pop-Up Shop

Reading Time: 5 minutes

We are inviting people to give wildlife an early Christmas present with the launch of our first ever pop-up shop.

We have opened our wood shop in Gilberdyke, East Yorkshire, to the public in the run up to Christmas.

As well as being one of the UK’s leading bird feed manufacturers, we also produce handmade wooden products including nest boxes, bird tables, and hedgehog houses.

They will be available from the shop, which will be open every day up until to December 21 at our site at Baltic Buildings, Gateway Business Park.

Maddy Johnston, our Marketing and Media Manager, said we had opened the shop to enable local people to provide shelter for birds and other wildlife as we head towards the coldest part of the year.

She said: “Everyone at Johnston & Jeff is passionate about birds and other wildlife and we know our customers are too.

“With winter on its way and temperatures falling, this is the hardest time of year for wildlife.

“That’s why we decided to trial our first ever shop in 142 years this year – so local people could provide vital shelter to birds, mammals, and other creatures in their gardens, to keep them snug through the winter.”

The shop will include all Johnston & Jeff’s full range of wooden products including boxed bird tables, bird tables, nest boxes, squirrel feeders, hedgehog houses, and a host of bird feeders and feeding stations.

It will be open every day from November 21 to December 21 from 10am to 2pm, including Saturdays and Sundays.

Maddy added the company had made extra provision for parking and ensuring visitors didn’t get lost on the way to the shop.

“As a manufacturing business, we’re not used to having members of the public on site,” she said.

“So we’ve created a new entrance to the site specifically for visitors to shop, ensuring they’re not going to get lost or wander off into our production facilities.

“Everyone is really excited about welcoming people to the site and we can’t wait to serve our first direct customers in 142 years!”
