We love this time of year here at Johnston & Jeff – and it’s not just because of the changing seasons and beautiful autumnal colours that emerge as the weeks go by.
No, there’s another wonderful reason to embrace the autumn… and that’s the National Exhibition, which is flinging wide its doors once again on October 5th at the Stafford County Showground.
We’re the main sponsors of this amazing aviary bird event, so you can bet that we’ll be front and centre with our own exhibition stand on the day, so make sure you come and say hi.
We’re always up for discussing everything bird related, and love nothing more than meeting all our happy customers. There might even be some free aviary bird food products up for grabs too!

Birds galore!
As for the event itself, it’s the biggest exhibition and sale of aviary birds in the UK so it’s certainly not to be missed if you’re an avid ornithophile, with everything from finches and lovebirds to budgies and canaries to be found under one giant roof.
Clubs supporting the exhibition include:
- The London Fancy Canary Club
- The National Bengalese Fanciers Association
- The Yorkshire British Bird & Hybrid Club
- The South Cheshire Budgerigar Society
- The Irish Fancy International
One of the biggest and brightest spectacles, however, is the collection of display aviaries. There’s nothing more joyful than watching birds in flight and you’ll be able to see so many gorgeous birds zooming around, free-flying in aviaries decorated with natural vegetation.
With so many trade stands in situ, the exhibition is also the perfect place for novice bird owners to explore and find out more about their favourite feathered friends, getting as much advice and help as possible.
Here, you’ll find aviary supplies, specialist seed mixes, perch brackets, coupe dishes, carry boxes, seed hoppers, water baths, cage fronts, health tonics, pacifiers, toys, special treats and a whole lot more… so if you’re not exactly clear on what it is you need to keep your birds happy, you’ll find all the support and guidance you need right here.
And, of course, don’t forget about the actual exhibition itself. You’ll see some simply splendid examples of beautiful birds (think of it as the Crufts of the bird world!) and find out exactly what goes into showing birds… excellent food for thought if you have plans in place for showing them yourself in the future.
This isn’t the only date of interest in the calendar either and you can continue to indulge your passion at the Help the Birdkeepers Show (also at the County Showground) on November 23rd.
Ticket prices for entry to both events are set at just £10, so you can have a wonderful day out, surrounded by birds, without having to break the bank. You can’t say fairer than that!
We’re sure you’re all as excited as we are for the start of next month… so see you at the show!
